Barcelona president Josep Bartomoio apologized to the Catalan fans after the unexpected elimination of the Champions League quarter-finals after a 3-0 defeat by ACE Roma in the return leg at the Olympic Stadium.
"Rome was stronger and better on the pitch, when you firmly believe you can achieve your goals," said Bartomio, quoted by Sport newspaper after the meeting.
"This result will, of course, affect our recent matches in the Spanish league, but they are important interviews to restore confidence," he said. "We have a project that runs all season for competition on all fronts, whether with Valverde or another coach."
